EXHIBITIONS:
GORGE
A photo exhibition about the global upheaval of farming and consumption.

There is a Swedish saying, "från jord till bord" (from the earth to the table), that symbolizes the country's agricultural tradition. This concept has long been a cornerstone of Swedish farming. In 2020, the European Union launched the "From Farm to Fork" project, an ambitious strategy aimed at achieving climate neutrality by 2050. Since its inception, farmers and their supporters have staged demonstrations and riots across Europe, advocating for a greater emphasis on their role as the essential providers of our survival.

Farmers and those working within our food supply chain are indeed our providers. Yet, they have also become reluctant enablers of the 21st century’s rampant consumption. “Gorge” shines a spotlight on the lives of farmers and their communities around the world, highlighting the frustration and helplessness felt by the agricultural sector in the face of economic pressures stemming from unsustainable consumer habits. The exhibition captures the changing face of farming life today, revealing the challenges and transformations within agricultural landscapes that once thrived.

The name "Gorge" serves as a powerful metaphor, connecting both the image of a barren geographical rift and the act of consuming greedily to the point of excess. This dual meaning captures the essence of the exhibition, reflecting the dichotomy (split) between the stark realities of farming life and the insatiable (ever unsatisfied) demands of modern consumerism.

The exhibition took place at Larry’s Corner in Stockholm 2024.
